George Steel, Jr.

George Steel, Jr. has practiced law in Arkansas for over forty-five years, representing clients in every area of law. He received a B.S. in Banking and Finance from the University of Arkansas and his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law. 

His business clients have ranged from such major corporations as Weyerhauser and Walmart to sole proprietors, community banks, and independent businesses. In this capacity, he has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for several banks.

In criminal law, George has served as the elected Prosecuting Attorney for seven counties in Southwest Arkansas and tried hundreds of felony cases on both sides of the aisle. His work as a general practice attorney earned him the highest possible rating for legal skill and ethics from his peers in the Martindale-Hubbell Role of Preeminent Lawyers: AV.

George became Of Counsel to Steel, Wright and Collier at its founding. He resides in Hot Springs, Arkansas and focuses his practice on banking and probate matters. In addition to his practice, he sits on the Board of Directors for Diamond Bank.

He has been married to Becky Tackett Steel since 1977 and they have two children: Ashley Steel and SWGH partner Nate Steel.
